In India its rare practice. We live like family we die as family. Family is the smallest but strongest unit in India. Its most powerful than anything known to Indians.
Kids are center of it all and everything is done to give them better life and better future. Old people are head of the family they provide the necessary guidance to younger people of the family even if they are weak and can not do any other work.
They help in house work only that much which they can do. Mostly spend time and play with grandchildren’s.Old age home is unthinkable for us.

But yet friction can be seen in few families. Old people loose temper easily. They can be irritating some times. Younger generation can think them to be fool. But yet they deserve the respect. They should not be back talked. Few idiots who think old parents are useless. They start abusing them, few also beat them.

But I must not be forgotten that when you were young you were weak just like your parents are now. You were useless just like your parents are now. But parents didn't throw you out of the house they cared for you. Now they are old and deserve proper care just like they took care of you.

We get blessings of our parents it protects us from all the evil of world. Their life experience is precious. So love them, respect them and care for them.

Gujarat, Rajasthan to jointly promote Tourism

Jaipur, April 18: The Gujarat government today signed an agreement with Rajasthan to jointly promote tourism in western India through road shows and events in the country and abroad.
"It is better to showcase a region on an international level rather than to promote just a state. In this way we will be promoting the whole of western India," said Vipul Mitra, principal secretary, tourism and civil aviation, government of Gujarat.
"We are also in talks with the Maharashtra government for the same while Punjab and Karnataka have already been roped in," he added.
Mitra said Gujarat is building a film city on the lines of one in Hyderabad and is in talks with Bollywood for the promotion of state tourism.
"We have a docile crowd here unlike in many other states, so film companies can easily set up the sets of different states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and do their shooting without any disturbance," he added.
The tourism corporation of Gujarat has also acquired 400 acres of land and is in talks with a Surat-based company for the same.

"The work will start shortly." Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan is the brand ambassador of Gujarat tourism.

Pride of Gujarat Gujarat’s Geer forest today is the sole and last bastion of the Asiatic lion, with the carnivore’s numbers till April, 2005, based on sightings being 359. Unlike tiger conservation, the attempt to protect lions and increase their numbers is considered a success story as poaching is relatively scarce in the sanctuary. The last reported case was in April 2007, when eight lions were killed in three incidents. By contrast, in 2009, reveal sources, about 120 tiger deaths were recorded in India. Of these, at least one fourth were perpetrated by poachers. So far as poaching of lions is concerned, it is reported to have occurred in response to the great demand for derivatives such as medicines and charms from tiger bones in countries such as China. Lion bones, apparently, are passed off as tiger bones by traders in animal parts. In the wake of the poaching episode, the Gujarat Government set up a task force to review security arrangements. This body recommended the use of high-tech gadgets such as GPS, automated sensor grid and night vision devices. The GPS-based system would facilitate surveillance, animal tracking and tracking of vehicles entering the sanctuary; and the sensors would help in classifying and locating intrusions. Night vision devices would assist mobile patrolling squad’s spot poachers by enhancing surveillance capability in the dark. Gujarat’s success at conservation is especially notable because the Geer forest is the sole habitat of the king in India and the world. Its rival has 41 sanctuaries, big and small, reserved for it, under Project Tiger, which commenced in 1973 as a centrally sponsored scheme. The project was upgraded into a statutory body, National Tiger Conservation Authority, on September 4, 2006, for a period of three years. The 11th Five Year Plan allots Rs 600 crore for tiger conservation. This apart, international conservation agencies have since long been focussing on tigers and handsomely funding conservation efforts here and elsewhere. But despite the frenetic global involvement with tiger conservation, the number of the big cats, as per Minister of State for Forests and Environment Jairam Ramesh, has declined to about 1,000 from 1,411 in the last census, conducted four-five years ago.

Mogul Sanhensa Ahmedshah has created Ahmedabad City in 1572...Now the great city turns 600 years. Gujarat News paper have added special supplement but reality of Ahmedabad city is far behind in all the supplements.

In India only two places Rathyatra of Bhagwan Jaggnath takes place one in Jaggnath puri and other in Ahmedabad. In India only Ahmedabad having 32 Textile mills and so the city called Manchester of India. Only one city in India celebrating Makar Sankranti by flying kites then other city follows. In Nine days Navratri festivals The Dandia Ras Garba mahotsav taking place only in Ahmedbad and this become credit of Ahmedabad.

In the last six centuries city has seen many ups and downs and has developed into a mega-city which is at heart of Gujarat state's development. We Love Ahmedabad.

A Gujarati changed the course of history when he navigated Portuguese explorer
Vasco Da Gama to Calicut. Sea trade between India and the western world flourished linking the two regions in an inseparable way. The rest is history.

Gujarat's ports became launchpads of Indian enterprise. The British signed their first business deal with the Mughals in Ahmedabad. Be it Malik Ayaz who resisted the Portuguese armies securing the state's seas or entrepreneur Ranchhodlal Chhotalal, who, taking advantage of a British legislation allowing export of machinery, set up the first textile mill in Ahmedabad, Gujarat's ties with Europeans have been a roller-coaster ride.

Even Mahatma Ghandhi chose to make Gujarat his first base in India to fight the British. But, it all started with Kanji Malam, a sailor from ship-building town of Mandavi. Vasco Da Gama's crew roped in Malas as pilot to guide them to Calicut from Malindi on the east African coast in 1497. While Vasco was lucky to have Malam by his side, another Portuguese aristocrat and explorer Bartolomeu Dias was not so fortunate. In search of Indian shores, he had to return from the Cape of God Hope in 1488.

Historians have differed over the identity of the sailor who guided Vasco, calling him a Christian, a Muslim and a Gujarati. According to another account, he was the famous Arab navigator Ibn Majid. Some historians suggest Majid could not have been in the vicinity at the time. German author Justus says it was Malam who accompanied Vasco. Italian researcher Sinthia Salvadori too has concluded that it was Malam who showed Vasco the way to India.
